Bloodworks Northwest is looking for volunteer donor monitors, registrars, and blood drive ambassadors, to work two shifts, six to eight hours long, per month.

Meals on Wheels People seeks drivers and substitute drivers to deliver meals to homebound people.

Rehabilitation Administration Region 3 seeks volunteers to mentor children in the juvenile justice system. Mentors visit children in facilities, talk by phone and write letters as often as possible. Mentor program internships also are available to educate the community about the program and its needs, create fliers, recruit volunteers, and pursue grants and donations.

Volunteer Center seeks information desk assistance at the Public Service Center. Substitute volunteers are also needed at the courthouse.

Washington State University Clark County Extension is looking for volunteer watershed stewards. After training, stewards work on projects such as public outreach and education, stream restoration, water-quality monitoring and community workshops.

YWCA seeks volunteers in various programs. Those with greatest need are CASA, Safe Choice and Sexual Assault Advocates.

Columbia Springs seeks participants in its volunteer lead training, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Feb. 3 and 4 at the environmental education center, 12208 S.E. Evergreen Highway, Vancouver. Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be provided. Training is free and attendance at both sessions is required. In exchange for training, volunteers commit to 20 hours of service in one year.

The Clark County councilors seeks to fill a community representative opening on the Community Action Advisory Board by a resident of district two, which is east of I-205 and includes parts of east Vancouver, Hockinson, Camas and Washougal. The nine-member board makes recommendations regarding local government funding for basic and essential housing, health and safety needs.

The board meets at 8 a.m. on the second Tuesday of odd-numbered months, and as needed.
