Letter: End endorsement of hatred

By Toni Jacobson, Battle Ground
Published: June 11, 2016, 6:00am

It feels like our country is going to hell in a hand basket. No one seems to have respect for each other anymore. There is so much hate and just plain bad feelings.

Then you go to a restaurant nearby and people are glad to see you and smile and hold the door for you, and for a while it feels good again.

These politicians have got to stop with the accusations. Try relying on facts instead of conjecture. We are only here for a short time, and if we don’t work together and be kind to one another, what are we saying to our children and grandchildren? We have to protect them and make sure they won’t follow the same stupidity we are showing them.

It’s insane that we endorse hatred, walls being put up and insults being thrown at people just like us. We better be in this together or else we won’t have much of a country to stand by.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
