A Vancouver woman was injured Wednesday morning in a motorcycle crash while exiting state Highway 14.

Alyssa L. Nelson, 27, was driving the motorcycle east on the highway and took the exit for Columbia House Boulevard in west Vancouver at about 8:30 p.m., according to the Washington State Patrol. She stopped for a traffic light at the end of the offramp, lost control of the motorcycle and laid it down, the State Patrol said.

Nelson was injured in the crash and taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, police said. She was treated and released from PeaceHealth on Wednesday, according to hospital staff.

The yellow 2004 Kawasaki 250 she was driving was damaged and towed from the scene, according to the State Patrol.

Police determined that the crash was caused by traveling too fast for conditions. No charges or citations were issued, according to a memo issued by the State Patrol.
