SEATTLE — A Seattle woman who suffered a concussion during an arrest has settled a lawsuit against the city and the police officer who punched her.
Seattlepi.com reports Miyekko Durden-Bosley and her attorneys will receive $195,000.
Seattle Police Officer Adley Shepherd arrested Durden-Bosley outside a South Seattle home in June 2014 after he and other officers were called on a report that the 23-year-old was arguing with a man.
State Patrol investigators said she was stopped by police while walking in the area and that Shepherd handcuffed her and put her in the back of a patrol car.
Video of the incident shows Durden-Bosley kick at Shepherd, who recoils and then punches her in the face.
Shepherd was placed on home assignment after the incident. His current status with the Seattle Police Department wasn’t clear.
