The Vancouver Police Department is temporarily closing public access to its West Precinct due to construction.

Closure of the building, 2800 N.E. Stapleton Road, is expected to begin on July 1 and last through the end of the month.

During the closure, front counter service will be available at the agency’s East Precinct, 520 S.E. 155th Ave., from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Service technicians will temporarily be transferred to the East Precinct to provide additional staff to take in-person police reports, the agency said.

During the closure, Vancouver police asks residents wishing to drop off unwanted medication can to do so at other police agencies. Among those drop sites is Clark County Sheriff’s Office headquarters, 707 W. 13th St.

The Vancouver police construction project is related to the agency’s efforts to add its own records unit.
