Fire officials have not determined what caused a blaze in an Orchards-area home that displaced six people early Saturday morning.

Clark County Deputy Fire Marshal Curtis Eavenson said that the fire, reported at about 6 a.m. at the home, 9817 N.E. 64th St., started in the garage.

He said the fire was possibly electrical in nature, but he wasn’t sure he’d be able to determine the exact cause.

Five adults, one child and four pets were displaced, according to the American Red Cross. The organization gave the occupants temporary lodging, addressed immediate basic needs and provided them with recovery services, including health services.

The fire caused an estimated $150,000 in damage to the house’s structure and an additional $50,000 in estimated damage to belongings in the home.
