THE PRUDENTIAL SPIRIT OF COMMUNITY AWARDS–YOUTH VOLUNTEER
Tristan Ryan of Vancouver, a senior at Seton Catholic College Preparatory, was honored by The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards as one of Washington’s top two youth volunteers of 2016. He was presented with a silver medallion at his school on March 8. Tristan worked with his brother, Aiden, to raise more than $100,000 to begin a music therapy program for premature infants at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, and to purchase equipment to reduce noise in the neonatal intensive care unit.
As a state honoree, Tristan will receive $1,000 and an all-expense-paid trip in May to Washington, D.C., for several days of national recognition events. At that time, ten of the state honorees will be named America’s top youth volunteers of 2016. For more information about Tristan’s volunteer project, go to http://bit.ly/1UmfmeY
