Increased DUI enforcement planned for tonight

Vancouver police offering Uber discounts this St. Patrick's Day

In anticipation of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, officers from the Vancouver and Battle Ground police departments will increase patrols to catch intoxicated drivers tonight, the Vancouver Police Department said in a press release issued this morning. The goal is to keep drunk or high drivers off the road.

“Officers, who are also drug recognition experts, will be among the officers conducting these increased DUI patrols,” police warn, “so, whether it’s green beer or another type of green, getting behind the wheel impaired could mean a DUI.”

Vancouver police are partnering with Uber for the first time to offer a discount on the ride service today. Use the coupon code RIDEHOMEVANC at get.uber.com/go/ridehomevanc.

Police suggest that those celebrating St. Patrick’s Day start their evening by selecting a designated sober driver.
