Here are the nominees for The Columbian spring sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending March 26.
Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.
COLIN BIGGS, MOUNTAIN VIEW BASEBALL: Biggs tossed a two-hit shutout vs. Skyview and went 3 for 10 with two RBI in three wins for the Thunder.
BAILEY KING, UNION BOYS TRACK AND FIELD: King won the shot put and discus at the Tiger Invitational, throwing a state-best mark in the discus.
JENNA MELANSON, LA CENTER GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD: Melanson won the 800, 1,600 and 3,200, setting a school record in the 3,200, at a meet at Kalama. She also placed third in the 1,600 at the Tiger Invite.
HAILEY OSTER, CAMAS GIRLS GOLF: Oster shot a 2-over-par 36 at Fairway Village in a win over Mountain View.
JADYN SCHOFIELD, COLUMBIA RIVER SOFTBALL: Schofield went 8 for 8 with a home run, six runs, six RBI and three stolen bases in two wins.
