OLYMPIA (AP) — The Mason County Sheriff’s office says a man accused of shooting at a sheriff’s deputy last month has been accidently released from jail.
According to the sheriff’s office, 27-year-old Joshua Weythman Baker shot at a deputy — who was not hit by the gunfire — during pursuit on March 31. Baker was being held at the Cowlitz County jail as a suspect in the shooting.
Deputies say they do not know what caused Baker’s release. However, officials believe he was given a bus ticket to the Olympia area.
