Ellsworth Springs — More than 30 Evergreen Habitat for Humanity volunteers and Lowe’s Heroes employee volunteers joined together to help local families build solid and affordable homes during Habitat for Humanity’s National Women Build Week, which runs April 30 through May 8. This event was created by Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build program. It invites women to devote one day to helping families build strength, stability and independence through housing. The goal is to shine a spotlight on homeownership challenges women face. Lowe’s donated $2 million to Habitat’s 2016 National Women Build Week and provided the support of Lowe’s Heroes employee volunteers. The home improvement chain will conduct how-to clinics at stores to teach volunteers construction skills.
