SEATTLE — The U.S. Census says Seattle is now the fourth fastest growing among the 50 largest U.S. cities.
The Seattle Times reports this is the third consecutive year that Seattle is among the top 5 cities for population growth. According to data released Thursday, Seattle’s population grew by 2.3 percent between July 2014 and July 2015.
Seattle grew by 15,000 people during the time period covered by the Census news report. Denver was the fastest growing large city in the United States during that time.
Washington’s second- and third-largest cities grew at a slower pace. Spokane reported less than 1 percent growth for the year, while Tacoma’s population increased by 1.6 percent.
