Documents filed in Multnomah County Circuit Court show that a man who allegedly shot at a vehicle and led police on a chase in Clark County earlier this week will face most of his charges in Oregon.

Cory James Jackson, 35, was arrested Wednesday after he reportedly shot at a vehicle parked at the Shilo Inn in Salmon Creek, 13206 N.E. Highway 99, and fled south on Interstate 5 at about 8:45 a.m., according to court records.

Washington State Patrol chased the vehicle, a teal Honda Civic which was reported as stolen, though eventually discontinued the pursuit. Police spotted the vehicle driving recklessly, weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed, according to court documents.

Officers with the Portland Police Bureau tracked the stolen vehicle to a Portland motel, where they arrested Jackson, according to court records.

Investigators learned that the incident had begun the night before, when Jackson threatened his ex-girlfriend that he would hurt her and her son if she did not meet him at the Portland motel, according to the documents.

When the woman arrived at the motel, Jackson broke her phone and held her in the room at gunpoint, verbally abusing her throughout the night, according to the court documents.

The next morning, Jackson and the woman drove to the Salmon Creek motel to retrieve some belongings, the documents say, and while the woman was inside the motel, Jackson shot out a window and fled without the woman.

Phillips, Alafanso and Tagabuel were arrested earlier this week and booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on federal holds by the U.S. Marshals Service. Alafanso was released Thursday and was ordered to appear at a later court date.

When police arrested him, Jackson had on a wig and denied his identity. He was also found in possession of a BB or pellet handgun, according to court documents.

Jackson faces charges of first-degree kidnapping, menacing, coercion, which are all domestic violence charges. He also faces charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, identity theft and attempting to elude police.
