Felida — Skyview High School graduate Alicia Cooper was named Miss Clark County in February and Miss Washington in July, and recently finished as the third runner-up in the Miss America Pageant in September. On Nov. 5, she celebrated her accomplishment locally, when Vancouver Mayor Tim Leavitt announced it was Alicia Cooper Day in the city during a homecoming party for Cooper. The event included a ribbon-cutting sponsored by the Vancouver Chamber of Commerce for the Miss Clark County Scholarship Organization and a surprise visit from Mark Schell, her dance choreographer, who flew in for the event. Cooper received around $40,000 in scholarships from her participation in the Miss America system.
