TACOMA — A hit-and-run driver struck three people who had pulled onto the shoulder of Interstate 5 in Tacoma to change a flat tire.
The Washington State Patrol says two were taken to Tacoma General Hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
KOMO-TV reports that a preliminary investigation found that a Nissan Maxima carrying four people had pulled off on the shoulder of I-5 near the 56th Street exit Thursday night. Three people were on the side of the road changing a flat tire when another vehicle crashed into them and kept going.
The hit-and-run vehicle is believed to be a black Honda Civic.
