Portland State runs roughshod over Idaho State in 45-20 win

Vikings rush for school-record 531 yards

PORTLAND — Paris Penn scored four TDs to break a Portland State single-game record as the Vikings defeated Idaho State 45-20 on Saturday.
Penn had 16 carries for 184 yards and teammate Nate Tago added 12 carries for 199 yards and a score as the Vikings ran for a single-game team record 531 yards, besting the previous school mark of 465 yards.

Portland State (2-3, 1-1 Big Sky) quarterback Alex Kuresa didn’t complete a pass in five attempts but had 12 carries for 92 yards and a score.

Idaho State led 6-0 after Jakori Ford scored on a 2-yard run, ending a 16-play, 81-yard drive.

In successive drives, Penn had a 22-yard TD run, Kuresa sprinted 69 yards to score, Tago added a 72-yard score and Penn had a 24-yard run to make it 28-6 with 7:25 remaining before halftime.

Tanner Gueller was 22 for 39 for 212 yards with two TDs and interception for Idaho State (2-3, 1-1).
