Letter: Republican policies undermine U.S.

By Bill Kelley, YACOLT

It seems that Apple Inc. pays few taxes anyplace in the entire world. The European Union has noticed that Apple has not paid its $14.5 billion tax bill because Ireland gave them a special deal.

When corporations don’t contribute to the infrastructure that supports them in America, American workers get the bill for that infrastructure. Schools get less money so your property taxes go up. Republicans who support this tax structure claim corporate taxes are too high. Paying nothing is too high.

When Republicans start useless wars on the credit card, it further undermines the American society’s health. It has also undermined the health of a lot of fine soldiers whose patriotism and sense of duty was abused. Vote accordingly.
