WENATCHEE — A 21-year-old driver suspected in a hit-and-run crash that killed a 50-year-old bicyclist in July himself into police in Wenatchee.

Chelan County Sheriff Brian Burnett said Jovany Lopez-Maciel was arrested on a Chelan County Superior Court warrant charging him with hit and run driving involving a death. He was booked into the Chelan County Regional Jail Thursday.

Burnett said Friday that deputies had been searching for Lopez-Maciel since the July 16 crash that killed Gary Knowlton of Brewster.

Police have said Knowlton was riding his bicycle near the Chelan Airport when he was struck by what was believed to be a red truck.
