Three people sustained serious injuries Wednesday evening in a two-vehicle crash on East Fourth Plain Boulevard near Vancouver’s Veterans Affairs campus.

Police and firefighters were called at about 7 p.m. to the crash, near the P Street intersection. Police believe an impaired driver caused the crash, according to a news release from the Vancouver Police Department. That driver was hurt and taken to a hospital.

In the other vehicle, two people were injured, one of them with life-threatening injuries, according to the news release. They, too, were hospitalized.

Vancouver’s Traffic Unit is investigating the crash. Detectives blocked P Street for several hours as they worked.
