American Cancer Society Road to Recovery program seeks volunteer drivers to take patients to and from their cancer treatments.

Clark College Corporate & Continuing Education seeks cooking school assistants to support the program manager and the cooking school instructor with shopping, classroom set-up, and prep and sous-chef functions for Saturday and evening classes.

Daybreak Youth Services is looking for a volunteer office assistant to help with filing, copying and phone calls. Special event assistants are also needed.

Lifeline Connections seeks help with filing, packet assembly, light computer work and small projects.

nConnect is looking for professionals, retirees, and college students from all backgrounds and industries to inspire students for one hour or throughout the school year. Volunteers are sought for STEM mentoring, guest speaking, providing company tours, job shadowing and internships, networking and consulting.

Open House Ministries is looking for volunteers to repair all types of bicycles at its Wheels and Deals bike shop. Computer technicians, tutors, website designers, and thrift store and coffee shop volunteers are also needed.

Volunteer Connections is looking for volunteers to be pen pals, to exchange letters with elementary students once a month during the school year. Pen pals meet at the end of the school year for a dessert social.

Furry Friends, a local cat rescue organization run by volunteers, is relocating this month and seeks help. Volunteers are needed to prepare the new site, to move cats, Friday through Sunday, and to restore the old location to a habitable state after the cats have moved, Sept. 26-30. Work is available indoors and out.

Vancouver Public Schools seeks participants for its 24th year with the Lunch Buddy program. In the program, adult mentors are matched with students who need a positive adult role model. Buddies have lunch together at school once a week, and get to know each other through reading, playing games or chatting.

There will be informational sessions at noon on Sept. 28 and Oct. 26 at Bates Center for Educational Leadership, 2901 Falk Road, Suite 102, Vancouver.
