Letter: Freedom Caucus selfish and mean

Why do Republicans hate Obamacare so much? They hate the mandate that requires everyone to have insurance.

The problem with that is, if both the healthy and sick are not covered, insurance does not work. They hate any funds going to health care for the poor. They want to reduce Medicaid. The so-called “Freedom Caucus,” an extreme-right group of 29 House members, basically wants health insurance for the poor destroyed. Millions will lose coverage. Basic preventive care — gone. Prenatal care — gone. Pediatric care for babies — gone. Prescription drug coverage — gone.

How dare they? They are selfish and mean. Buying extremely expensive private insurance will be back with high deductibles or people can buy “junk” plans that barely cover a box of tissue when hospitalized. Millions of Donald Trump voters will be affected. Well, this is what they will get. Good luck.
