Letter: Protect abortion rights

By James E. Rogers, VANCOUVER
Published: April 8, 2017, 6:00am

I have to disagree with letter writers Carol L. Thomas (“Who speaks for the unborn?” March 31) and Doug Moe (“Time to end legal abortion,” March 24), concerning ending legal abortion.

I am a man with children, all grown, and grandchildren. I love them all dearly. I am old enough to recognize that people regret things they have done in the past and wish they could undo, myself included.

Yet neither Thomas nor Moe have the right to make decisions for anyone else, including having a safe abortion.

I’m reminded of a bumper sticker, “Against abortion, don’t have one!”

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
