Letter: Oppose terminals; contact governor

By Cam Keely, KALAMA
Published: April 9, 2017, 6:00am

I am a 15-year citizen of Kalama and a devoted volunteer for the fight against the largest methanol refinery in the world. I’m writing to bring awareness to the action you can take to help our cause.

It has been brought to my attention that Gov. Jay Inslee has the power to ask the Washington State Department of Ecology to deny the refinery’s permits, directly deny permits for the Tesoro-Savage oil terminal and put a moratorium on all fossil fuel-guzzling environmental monsters in this state. Please call or write to Inslee and ask him to back up what he, as a “green” governor, knows is right for Washington. A minute of your time can go a long way.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
