Nominees for Week 3 spring sports prep athlete of the week

Voting, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian spring sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the two-week period ending April 8.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

To avoid vote manipulation, voting is restricted by IP address. That means people voting while connected to a public WIFI access may be unable vote. We suggest voting be done by private internet access or through your cellular provider.

GAVIN LEE, HERITAGE BOYS TRACK AND FIELD: Lee threw a state-best mark of 186-10 in the javelin in a meet with Union.

DAI’LYN MERRIWEATHER, UNION GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD: Merriweather won the 100 meters at Aloha Preview meet in 12.36 seconds, ranking her second in the state at 4A.

DELAINEY PATTERSON, PRAIRIE GIRLS GOLF: Patterson was the medalist in all three of the Falcons’ matches, including a 39 at Fairway Village.

TREVOR SWARTZ, EVERGREEN BASEBALL: Swartz went 4 for 7 with a double and game-winning home run and threw 2.1 innings of scoreless relief for the Plainsmen.

DANNY WING, CAMAS BOYS SOCCER: Wing had six goals and one assist in two wins for the Papermakers.
