Ridgefield — The Ridgefield School District’s April students and employee of the month were named at the district’s April 11 school board meeting.

Terri Cochran, community education coordinator, was named Employee of the Month, while Madison Walker, Jesse Siemer, Ben Poppert and Morgan Ustick were named Students of the Month.

Cochran earned the honor for her work with March’s Ridgefield Youth Arts Month. Walker, a South Ridge Elementary School sixth-grader, was chosen for seeking out opportunities to support and help others in the classroom and in the wider school community.

Union Ridge Elementary School sixth-grader Siemer was selected for consistently sharing in class, engaging with her classmates and making learning a priority.

Poppert, an eighth-grader from View Ridge Middle School, earned the monthly honor for his participation in the regional National History Day contest, where he was selected to advance to the state level competition.

Ustick, a senior at Ridgefield High School, was described as a team leader, professional and someone who builds a positive culture among her peers, and was picked for Student of Month thanks to her involvement with multiple AP classes, gymnastics, Art Club and Aviation Explorers Club.
