Clark Asks: Are hillside caves still accessible?

And the winner is … caves.

A week ago, we asked you to vote on three reader questions submitted as part of our Clark Asks initiative in which we ask you to ask us questions to report on.

About 61 percent chose this question: “Are the caves used as a mausoleum on the hillside behind Harney School still accessible?”

In second with 30 percent of the vote was this question: “I’ve recently moved to Clark County with my two dogs, and we see dogs everywhere! How many dogs are there and where can I take them?”

The remaining 9 percent voted for a reader who asked: “How did the Harmony Sports Complex come about? It’s 30 acres of county property that enables thousands of kids to play soccer and baseball.”

Stay tuned for a story in the near future taking a look back at the mausoleum that once stood on the hillside overlooking the Harney neighborhood.

If your story didn’t win the voting round, don’t despair. We may get to it down the road. So far, we’ve tackled nearly a half-dozen reader questions after starting Clark Asks in June.
