Letter: Officials ignore request

By Jim Martin, VANCOUVER
Published: August 21, 2017, 6:00am

I had been taught, and therefore believed, the most important characteristic of any elected official is constituent service.

This past Memorial Day I was feeling patriotic and wrote my two U.S. senators and the current House of Representative member.

Harley Hall grew up in Vancouver, attended Clark College and became a renowned leader in the U.S. Navy. Shot down in last days of the Vietnam War, his disappearance has puzzled military and family alike.

Asking my three elected officials the following, I wrote only:

A) Where is Cmdr. Harley Hall?

B) What are you doing to find him?

As of this date, none of three has answered my request.

So, I am wrong on constituent service being important to my elected officials in Washington, D.C.
