Letter: Kudos to outdoors writer

By Glenn and Mary Ann Teague, VANCOUVER

Thanks to Allen Thomas for his 39 years of reporting on the outdoors for The Columbian. Since we love the outdoors, we have been fans of his stories for almost as long as he has been writing them. We will miss his well-researched information about hiking, skiing, snowshoeing and fishing. It opened up new experiences for us, like mountain biking along the Deschutes River and hiking to Loowit Falls on Mount St. Helens.

Friends have commented, from time to time, about something Thomas had written. He definitely has had a following throughout the years. We are glad The Columbian is going to replace him. We wish him a wonderful retirement in the “outdoors.”

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
