Girls basketball: Camas 40, Jesuit 38

Courtney Clemmer’s bucket with 1 minute left gave the Papermakers the lead for good in their home victory over the Oregon 6A Crusaders in a back-and-forth defensive battle.

Jesuit’s largest lead of the fourth quarter was five points, before Camas chipped away at the small lead.

Marianna Payne led Camas with 10 points before fouling out midway through the fourth quarter. Coach Scott Preuninger praised the play of freshmen Jalena Carlile and Faith Bergstrom, who combined for 10 points. They also were a combined 3 of 4 at the free throw line.
