Letter: Provide for the homeless

Do you care about the homeless people in Clark County? If you do, you’ve come to the right place.

According to The Columbian, earlier this year there were about 749 homeless people, including 234 children, in Clark County. The homeless population increased by 8 percent last year and it’s not getting any better. Many homeless people lack certain things they need to stay alive, such as food and toiletries. The winter is a really bad time to be out on the streets without jackets and coats. One homeless person dying is enough for this problem to be bad.

If you want to help, a good place to donate is Share. They’ll accept donations like feminine supplies, toiletries like toothbrushes, toothpaste and deodorant, and nonperishable food items, like crackers and cereal bars (www.sharevancouver.org).

It’s really sad to know that so many people are dying in this world because they can’t afford the things they need to stay alive. We should stand together and make a change today.
