I agree with the Local View column by Vancouver City Councilor Alishia Topper, “Congress, don’t cut private-activity bonds during tax overhaul” (Nov. 19, The Columbian).
The local representatives need to support these private-activity bonds that are a major way for private developers to participate in building low-income housing in our county. Under the proposed tax plan, this way of financing will be eliminated. Our representative in Congress voted for the tax plan.
I urge readers to contact senators and representatives and ask for these bonds to be included in the final version of the tax package.
