Letter: Kudos for Vancouver police

By Tracy Reilly Kelly, Vancouver
Published: December 13, 2017, 6:00am

Recently, I was the unfortunate victim of the crime of theft. As happens to all crime victims, I felt both violated and disoriented. There were actions to do right away to protect my property, but in what order?

In my case, I was incredibly fortunate as I was treated with superior professionalism by the Vancouver Police Department. VPD’s terrific Cpl. Marshall Henderson handled my case with the finest level of integrity and concern. I am so grateful to him and his rectitude, as he restored my sense of protection in my community with his thoughtful actions. He taught me a lot about criminal intent and gave me a checklist of tasks to do to protect myself and for my property. As the criminal appeared to have a whole scam attached to the crime, Henderson was diligent about the opportunity to investigate and connect this crime to others, thereby protecting other community members from crime.
