Letter: Love the sinner, hate the sin

I have been wrestling with what I should do as a God-fearing, Bible-believing Christian in response to the series of articles and front-page coverage of gay marriage in The Columbian. We are taught to love the sinner and hate the sin. Society has a hard time differentiating between the two, but God has no problem doing so.

Homosexuality is not a sin, but homosexual behavior is. Heterosexuality is not a sin, but fornication and adultery are. The celebration in the media of both is the same as the front-page coverage of homosexual behavior. I have long since stopped going to the movies and watching much on TV because of the celebration of errant heterosexuality. So I am stopping my subscription to The Columbian.

As Joshua said, “choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve … But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord (Joshua 24:15, NIV).

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
