Letter: Pike’s vision is shortsighted

In regard to Rep. Liz Pike’s response (“State’s burdensome business climate drove G-P to flee,” Dec. 7, The Columbian) to a partial shutdown of the Camas paper mill, I would like to know what part of G-P’s statement “Economic impacts from the continuing decline in demand for communication papers make it necessary to discontinue operations” she does not understand.

I am not an expert in reading between the lines and would appreciate an explanation.
