Letter: Vehicle fees are oppressive

It is no wonder we have so many problems with out-of-state license plates. Which would you rather have? An Oregon license plate that expires in 2021 or one from Washington that expires every year? Add to that, probably not having to pay on the Washington sales tax. I would like to think that most of us are honest, but we know there are many that are not, and we are paying for it.

I just registered my 1995 Ford pickup — yes, in Washington (where I live). I only use it to go to the dump a few times a year and the cost was $106 for a 22-year-old truck. Where is our leadership?
