Here are the nominees for The Columbian winter sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week period ending Feb. 4.
Athletes may win the honor once in during the regular season and cannot be nominated in consecutive weeks.
To ensure the integrity of the poll, votes are restricted to one per IP address. However, this may cause some using public Wi-Fi networks to be unable to vote.
Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.
KERISSA ANDERSEN, EVERGREEN GIRLS BOWLING: Andersen won the 3A individual state championship, averaging 198 over six games and led Evergreen to the team title.
WYATT CLOSE, PRAIRIE BOYS WRESTLING: Close won the 3A district title at 285 pounds, winning both of his matches by pin.
ALEXA DIETZ, CAMAS GYMNASTICS: Dietz won the 4A district all-around title with a score of 35.925 and also won the vault and floor exercise.
MACKENZIE ELLERTSON, KING’S WAY CHRISTIAN GIRLS BASKETBALL: Ellertson scored 34, 20 and 29 points as the Knights won three league games.
JADEN ROBB, WASHOUGAL GIRLS WRESTLING: Robb won the 125-pound division in the girls sub-regional meet, winning three matches by pin and a fourth by a score of 16-1.
