Battle Ground — To celebrate his fifth birthday, Quinn Pia wanted to give back. His family recently adopted a kitten through Second Chance Companions, and he asked his parents and relatives to help him collect pet beds and bowls for foster animals. His family filled three shopping carts full of items at Petsmart, where volunteers helping him gave him a balloon and cake. Second Chance Companions is a nonprofit pet organization in Southwest Washington that feeds, cares for, adopts out and spays and neuters companion animals.
