Hazel Dell — The recent snowstorm hit hard throughout Clark County, and now officials with Hazel Dell Little League are scrambling to raise money to repair damage before opening day on March 11. During the storm, protective nets were knocked over on all three of the league’s fields, although one field’s nets didn’t completely fall over onto the actual field. Tricia Hoffarth, president of the league, said teams rent out the big field before the season but now might not be able to, and the league was working on a paving project to get sidewalks near the field, which now will probably be pushed back. Overall damage to the field is about $20,000, Hoffarth said, and insurance will help repair some of that. League officials set up a GoFundMe, www.gofundme.com/hdll-snow-damage-renovation, and is looking to raise $10,000.
