A Vancouver man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Portland early Thursday morning.

Justin Thomas Hauser, 33, was identified as the driver in the fatal crash in Portland’s Lloyd District, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

Officers were called to a crash where a vehicle had struck a pole near the intersection of North Broadway and North Benton Avenue at 12:48 a.m. Thursday, police reported.

Fire and medical personnel extracted the driver from the vehicle and rendered him medical aid, however he died at the scene, Portland police said.

Investigators reported that speed is believed to be a factor in the crash, however, the agency’s major crash team is continuing its investigation.
