Chelatchie Prairie Railroad will be marking Father’s Day weekend with Steam Train Rides at noon and 2:30 p.m. June 17 and 18. The 1929 steam locomotive will carry passengers on a 13-mile round trip through north Clark County, including crossing the Lewis River, stopping to see Yacolt Falls and traveling through a 330 foot tunnel, before returning to the station, 207 N. The 10th annual Touchmark Car Show will draw thousands of car enthusiasts, with cars from 1905 to the current year on display from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 17 at Touchmark at Fairway Village, 2911 S.E. Village Loop, Vancouver. A full barbecue will be served, with music by DJ Craig Brown, and the Little Ricky VW Photo Booth Bus will be taking photos. The Town of Yacolt invites racers to meet Sasquatch during the annual Bigfoot Fun Run, with an added category for children ages 6 to 12. Participants can take part in the 5K and 10K at 9 a.m. June 24. Routes begin at Town Hall, 202 W. Cushman St., Yacolt and head out and back on the north county roads. The Saturdays in the Park concert series kicks off the summer with local band Harvest Gold, a tribute to Neil Young, at the Sternwheeler Park’s amphitheater and gazebo. Fort Vancouver Rose Society will hold its 64th annual Rose Show, titled “Rainbow of Roses.” This event is the largest rose show in Washington and the second largest in the nation. Visitors can explore exhibits of roses grown in the Northwest, arrangements of large roses and miniatures from 1 to 4 p.m. June 24 at Vancouver Church, 3300 N.E. 78th St., Vancouver. The annual Gorge Blues and Brews Festival features beer from the Stevenson to Seattle, along with regional wineries and cider houses, plus local food vendors. Live blues music will be performed 6 to 10 p.m. June 23 as a free Friday night event for those 21 and older. Then from noon to 10 p.m. June 24, two stages at the Skamania County Fairgrounds, 710 S.W. Weird Beer on the River returns with more than 25 beer and cider breweries with the challenge to create and serve their weirdest brew made from ingredients such as fruits, mushrooms, meat broth and more. This event is a fundraiser for CDM Caregiving Services, a local nonprofit agency serving the elderly and persons of all ages with disabilities in Clark County. The Twilight Half Marathon gives participants a chance to run in the cool evening air, with half-marathon, 10K and 5K routes. The course travels along Vancouver Lake and the Columbia River, featuring food, beer and live music at the finish line, with proceeds benefiting the Children’s Cancer Association. Race day registration begins at 4 p.m. July 8, with a 6 p.m. race start from Vancouver Lake Regional Park, 6801 N.W. Lower River Road, Vancouver.
