Mt. Vista — The Vancouver chapter of the American Association of University Women donated its historical records to Washington State University Vancouver. The group’s collection included archives, scrapbooks and other memorabilia from 1931 through the present. The library’s Archives and Special Collections worked with the local chapter on the donation, setting up a schedule for releasing records to the public. WSU Vancouver received permission from the association to give full public access to the records from 1931 through 1970 immediately. Records from 1971 through 1980 will be available in 2025, and records in 10-year increments will be available every 10 years after, so records from 1981 through 1990 will be available in 2035. “This will be an important collection to help document the roles, contributions and lives of women in the Vancouver area,” Karen Diller, librarian at the college, said in a release from the university.
