WSP: Inattention causes 3-vehicle crash on I-5

Investigators said that driver inattention led to a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 north of Vancouver Friday morning.

Haley Kelly, 21, of Battle Ground was driving a 2004 Chrysler Sebring south on the highway when she made an improper lane change an crashed into a tractor-trailer about two miles north of Highway 502, Washington State Patrol reported.

The tractor trailer then crashed into a Toyota Camry that was disabled and parked on the shoulder, troopers reported.

Kelly and the driver of the Toyota, 56-year-old Teresa Gonzalez of Longview were injured and taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. Their conditions were not immediately available.

State patrol said that Kelly will be cited for suspicion of making an improper lane change.
