Letter: Cell tower not appropriate

By Ron McKnight, Camas
Published: March 1, 2017, 6:00am

Well, it looks like the residents of Prune Hill, in Camas, lost the fight. At a lengthy hearing on Feb. 17, the Clark County Superior Court judge denied our appeal, siding with the city of Camas and the cellphone company. The ugly 175-foot cell tower on Prune Hill, which will provide wireless internet service to businesses in Portland, Gresham, Ore., and Vancouver (not Camas) has been approved.

When the ugly thing is built and your senses are offended, please feel free to thank the Camas Planning Commission, Hearing Examiner Joe Turner, and the Clark County Superior Court judge who may think that this monster will be a “work of art” — standing atop Prune Hill (where an 80-foot cell tower already stands). Sad!
