I have read countless times on these pages asserting that without an improvement to I-5’s Rose Quarter interchange no improvement will be gained to commuters with a new interstate bridge. If this is true why is the northbound afternoon commute so awful? North past the Rose Quarter traffic is awful. When the carpool lane disappears, traffic continues to be awful. It’s only after crossing the Interstate 5 Bridge that traffic improves.
