Last week, Gov. Inslee signed two county treasurer bills — Engrossed House Bill 1648 and House Bill 1283 — into law. As Clark County treasurer, I want to especially thank all our Clark County legislators: Reps. Monica Stonier, Sharon Wiley, Paul Harris, Vickie Kraft, Liz Pike, Brandon Vick, Ed Orcutt, Richard DeBolt, Norm Johnson, Gina McCabe; and Sens. Annette Cleveland, Lynda Wilson, Ann Rivers, John Braun, and Curtis King for supporting Engrossed House Bill 1648 and House Bill 1283 (Rep. Orcutt was a sponsor).

Both bills provide efficiencies and flexibility in property tax administration. A special shout out to the prime sponsor, Rep. Stonier, for navigating EHB 1648 through the Legislature and Sen. Wilson for being the prime sponsor of the Senate companion bill.

I really appreciate when our Clark County legislators work together to help make county government more efficient, flexible and cost effective for the taxpayers.
