Letter: Take close look at tax policy

Now that the new tax bill is coming out, Democrats are making their usual political rhetorical comments that have droned on over the decades. “It won’t help the middle class, it’s for the rich only,” sobs House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats. Of course, she has several multimillion-dollar houses to live in.

It seems that liberals don’t know the difference between an income statement and a balance sheet. Here are the facts: The top 10 percent of income earners pay over 70 percent of all income taxes. The top 25 percent of income earners pay about 90 percent of all taxes collected. The real problem is, almost 50 percent of income earners do not pay anything. Liberals should check out the IRS website, if they can stand reality. I am sure that they are invested in the corporations that they claim to hate so much — 401 doing OK?
