One person was transported to a hospital late Wednesday with life-threatening injuries after a shooting outside the QuarterDeck Bar, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

It was the second of two shooting this week, and investigations into both are ongoing, department spokeswoman Kim Kapp said.

In the Wednesday shooting, police were called to the area, 4300 E. Fourth Plain Blvd., at about 10:40 p.m. and remained on scene gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses, according to a police bulletin.

Kapp said officers were called after an employee at the QuarterDeck heard gunshots.

Officers arrived to find the victim had already been taken to the hospital in a private vehicle.

Kapp said Thursday afternoon police went to meet the man there, but the victim was still in too bad of shape to provide information.

Investigators were also still looking for additional witnesses in the week’s earlier shooting, where a victim was shot in the leg near Vancouver Mall Tuesday night.

That person received injuries  that weren’t life-threatening, Kapp said, but it was still unclear as to what precipitated the shooting.

No suspects had been identified or arrests made in Tuesday’s shooting, Kapp said.
