A man eluded capture after robbing a Chase Bank branch inside the Salmon Creek Fred Meyer Tuesday afternoon. No one was hurt.

Police were called to 800 N.E. Tenney Road at 4:20 p.m. for a reported robbery, according to emergency dispatch logs.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office said a man walked into the branch around 4:16 p.m., then presented a note demanding money to an employee. No weapons were seen or implied, and the man left the store on foot, cash in hand.

He left heading north, and no one reported seeing an associated vehicle, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies arrived and attempted to track the man with the help of a police dog, but were unsuccessful.

The sheriff’s office described the man as white, in his 20s and with a slender build and scruffy beard. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with lettering, dark pants and a dark ball cap with lettering.
