Letter: Support conservation district

In the interest of preserving Clark County’s quality of life as we know it and to continue to attract talent that will feed smart growth in this county, please connect with your county councilor and encourage consideration of a minimal rate proposal ($5 per parcel of land per year), thereby preserving the services offered by the Clark Conservation District.

These activities serve to conserve natural resources and include helping private landowners with permitting assistance, financial assistance for stormwater practices, septic system assistance, the maintenance of parks and trail systems, stream restoration, livestock and natural resource technical assistance and more. This district has been serving this community for decades.

These services will no longer exist in Clark County if this rate proposal is not implemented by the county council. CCD is not a regulatory agency and it does not enforce; it offers services without charge to residents; it works on private lands, directly for the landowner, unlike county and city governments; it responds to local needs, not to the mandate of government.

Please email your councilor today or contact Chairman Marc Boldt asking to give this proposal positive consideration. Learn more on the Clark Conservation District website.
