Letter: Herrera Beutler cruel, insensitive

Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017: Unstable gunman kills 26 people in Texas.

Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017: Republican Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler follows her leadership to vote against House Resolution 367 to just establish a Select Committee for Gun Violence Prevention to probe the causes of mass shootings, explore means of keeping guns out of the hands of mentally ill people and explore means tightening background checks.

This seems to be another example of how cruel and insensitive to others it can be to blindly follow leadership and stick one’s head in the sand so as not to see, know, or care about what is going on above the sand.
